First of all, I cannot even start this blog without saying a huge THANK YOU to Mclellan Studio of Franklin. They are certainly at the top of my list for photographers, and you can see why by viewing the slide show above. Some of the pictures were not done justice by this slide show, so I will sporadically post other pictures throughout this post.

Brianne and Dan were married this past September at the Carnton Plantation in Franklin. The venue is amazing. There is not enough to be said about the old Southern charm that is apparent in every aspect of the property. Although I did manage to scare a few of the catering staff with stories of the ghosts that are said to roam the property, everyone managed to get through the night without seeing any of them!

Suzette with Constant Cravings put on an amazing spread for the reception of good traditional Southern food. A 3 piece string quartet played before and during the ceremony and then Four on the Floor kept everyone rocking into the night at the reception; the dance floor was always full! The kids (young and old alike) had a great time with the fully stocked candy bar.

Brianne's biggest desire was to have a colorful wedding, and I think we pulled that off without a doubt. Gobo lights on the ceiling set the mood, and colorful candle holders and bridesmaids attire tied it all together. One of the cutest things was that the bridesmaids all wore red shoes, and the bride wore blue! There is a great shot of that in the slide show above. The cake was beyond amazing and also included all of the colors that were featured throughout the night.

This wedding was one to remember for sure! The families were amazing, and the bride and groom were so much in love.

It's a must have!!

The Real Simple Weddings edition is out!

I ordered mine through Crate and Barrel... along with a beautiful shower curtain that led me to painting my guest bathroom bright green, but that's beside the point.... anyhow, it's not been released in bookstores yet, and it is worth having for ANY bride.

The checklists in it are better than any I have ever seen. Think of the most simple breakdown of what you need and that's what you get from them. I love the magazine Real Simple anyways, and their wedding edition is lacking nothing! There are some pictures and ideas as well, but it's really more of a planning guide for brides.

I strongly suggest it, and am going to be keeping mine around for a long time!

Easy DIY Idea

Well, you've got to love Martha Stewart! I came across this idea in Martha Stewart Living many months ago, and have since tried it out for myself. It came out just as cute! The idea was originally posted for home decor, but I think it ttranslates really well into a wedding centerpiece idea! You can use lace (as shown) or even burlap for a rustic, fall wedding.

Here's the "how to" link , and just try one or two out first to get the feel for it before deciding to make a whole wedding full of them! It can be done without a lot of work, and would make great little gifts to send home with your bridesmaids and family members who attend your wedding. This is a great way to DIY a little something for your wedding that you don't even have to be too creative to do!

Weddings The Bridal Show

What a great show! I hope you all got to make it, as there were tons of great local vendors there! I got to see lots of old friends, and meet some new ones as well.

There were so many beautiful brides there and it was a pleasure meeting all of them!
I hope you all had fun, and look for an email over the weekend with special offers inside. Once I get through the email list of over 2000 brides it will be to you!

Um, did someone say cupcakes?!

There's something about a cupcake with pink frosting that just screams "EAT ME!" Don't you agree? Well, I can tell you where to go to get the best cupcakes in town... http://www.cuppycakesbakery.com/

Obviously they make tons of other cupcakes than just ones with pink icing, but those happen to be my favorite! Cuppycakes Bakery is owned and operated by Jessica and Cathy Parsons, dear old friends of mine who have an incredible talent for baked goods. I have seen them crank out some beautiful creations for showers, luncheons, office parties, and weddings. They have also recently branched out to wedding cake/ cupcake combos that are simple and beautiful.

So if you're looking for a unique way to do your wedding "cake" give these ladies a call, and see what they can put together for you. I know from first hand experience that these cupcakes are worth every penny and more! They are more than happy to work with you if you want a flavor/color not listed as well.

Alice and Micael- 5.3.08

Just this past Friday I had the pleasure of finally meeting Alice and Michael, who hired me months ago from out of state. They are a dynamic couple; Michael is an Army doctor who just returned from Iraq, and Alice runs her own very successful company. We met for tea at the Hermitage Hotel, the amazingly beautiful "home base" for their wedding. Their ceremony will take place at Legislative Plaza, and the reception will be right inside at the War Memorial Auditorium. The Pat Patrick Orchestra will be playing, and I know it will be an amazing evening!

Jane and Matthew were married at 4th Avenue Church of Christ in downtown Franklin, TN. The reception was held at the Marketplace in the Factory (sadly, no longer availible!). This wedding allowed me to come into contact with one of my favorite photography teams, Bamber Photography. They are a husband/wife team that are simply a pleasure to work with. Not only that, their work is amazing!

This wedding was a new challenge for me, as the bride and bridal party were to be putting together the bouquets and needed guidance! Although not my forte, I think we did a pretty great job on them!

Blumebox!

I came across this adorable website by accident one day as I was browsing. I am so glad I did! They make the cutest little "bud vases" called Blume Buds in tons of color schemes. They would be adorable as place cards at your reception, and would be perfect for any shower or bridal luncheon. They also have larger "vases" that could be used as centerpieces in coordinating colors. I like the bud vases a lot better, just for the sake or quality, but the large vases are cute too in that they can tie the color scheme together. At just over a dollar each for the bud cases, it's a great bargain! Check it out!

Lindsey and Jeremy

I'm going to begin this blog with one of the sweetest couples I have ever worked with. Lindsey is a dear friend of mine who I have known for years. She is just about the cutest, sweetest girl you will ever meet, and this translates into one of the cutest, sweetest brides! Jeremy is one of the last honest to goodness "good men" out there, and they had been together for a phenomenal six years before getting married! Talk about high school sweethearts! They came to me sort of at the last minute with a desperate plea for help. Lindsey just couldn't figure out how to get everything done on the day of the wedding, and needed someone to coordinate it for her. So, I came to her rescue!

The ceremony was held at beautiful Brentwood United Methodist Church, and the reception took place at Vanderbilt Legends Club. Lindsey's color scheme was mostly red with yellow and purple thrown in as accents with the flowers.

I was lucky enough to meet Pam Hogancamp with Ribbons of Chocolate at this event! The display she set up was to die for! She was one of the most wonderful "catering" vendors I have ever worked with.

As it was a dessert reception I encouraged Lindsey to let me demonstrate my, at the time, new idea for a coffee bar, and it was a huge hit with all of the guests!

All in all it was a fabulous day, and the couple sped off into the night to begin their happily ever after!

Welcome!

Congratulations on your engagement, first of all. This can be one of the most fun times in your life; I mean, you're getting married! So let's start planning!

This blog has been a long time coming, but with so many weddings getting underway I have been busy! I will post pictures of weddings that I have coordinated, and also wedding tips, trends, and vendors I love. Feel free to look around, and ask questions about anything you'd like!

I have a lot of catching up to do, so I am going to be posting quite frequently for the next few days~ keep watching for lots of updates!

Happy Planning!
